On May 5, 2012, Brian Ross emceed the Alaska Zoo Kids' Fun Run. Kids from 3-10 ran through the Zoo, racing past animal exhibits.
On May 5, it was time for the annual Alaska Zoo Kids' Fun Run! Brian came ready to emcee, fuelled up on McDonald's coffee!
Joining Brian on the mic and signing autographs, Olympic snow boarder Callan Chythlook-Sifsof!
Sponsored by Your Alaska McDonalds and Healthy Futures, there were boys/ girls races in four age brackets from 3-10. Each age bracket got it's own colored T-shirt.
Looking like a bunch of lime popsicles as they get ready to race along side the animal exhibits.
Callan signed many autographs and posed for lots of pictures--isn't it cute how the t-shirts come down to their knees on some of these kids?
Brian kept busy making announcements and getting kids ready to go. He even got them warmed up with jumping-jacks and stretches.
Parents could run along behind their 3-4 year olds. Race guids were volunteers from South Anchorage High School's National Honor Society.
"Man, watching all of you kids running has me out of breath!" Brian likes the Zoo Fun Run because it makes him feel...TALL.
Your Alaska McDonalds also supplied plenty of Apple Slices for the kids and coffee for the grown-ups. Coca-Cola of Alaska brought Power-Ade for after the run.
Here's the starting line. Races were up to 1 kilometer long. Yes, there are lots of animals at the Zoo to fill up that distance.
Parents waited at the finish line, and some kids even hugged others at the finish. Aaaawwww.
Brian always finds the superhero fans! Look fierce like Batman, kid!
