Brian Ross at Alaska Ski For Women

Brian MC'ed at the 14th Annual Alaska Ski For Women, on Superbowl Sunday 2010. He also was a judge for the costume contest.

  •
Hundreds of people showed up, many in costume, for the 14th Annual Alaska Ski For Women. The first one was accidentally scheduled on Superbowl Sunday. From then on, that's been the tradition.
  •
Many people went ALL OUT to create intricate costumes, with more skills than I was ever able to learn in Shop Class. I got a C minus.
  •
Here's the Girls Ski Team from West High.
  •
This team was called "Mexican Train." Even though I am part Mexican, and grew up playing dominos with my Mom (the Mexican side of the family), I never knew that was the name of a domino game.
  •
...and when one domino falls, they all start to fall!
  •
Look! A calf! And what a cute li'l heifer. Or is she a spotted dalmation? We got those two teams confused a lot.
  •
    Bacteria! Where's my hand sanitizer?
  •
This team remained tethered together along the entire trail.
  •
Dude. Check out my new IPOD!
  •
I'm TOTALLY rockin' out to Lady Gaga!
  •
Birds were a popular costume. Pink was a popular color. There was even a pink flamingo team...each member only had ONE SKI.
  •
Hey, mate! Looks like I caught me a li'l WALLABY. This tiny kangaroo looked so cute crossing the finish line.
  •
By far, the easiest costumes to spot out of the hundreds of skiers--a team of Monarch Butterflies. Last year they were dressed as caterpillars! (I love that joke--came up with it myself, I did!)
  •
    Androids!!
  •
And finally, me posing with the winner of the Team Costume category. Thank you to the Alaska Ski For Women for having me there this year.
